Artist Introduction

What’s your stage name and where are you from?

Kiro’s Stigma, from the Philippines

What’s the story behind your stage name?

Kiro comes from an anime called “Death Note,” originally from a character named Kira. I changed it to Kiro since the name means “Light,” while “Stigma” represents darkness or the uncertainties in life.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.

My musical journey began with a fascination for the powerful energy of rock bands, which sparked my passion for music. As I grew older, I explored various genres, often channeling my own sadness and realizations about reality into my band’s compositions. Today, music remains an integral part of my life, helping me navigate the complexities of emotion and providing a constant source of inspiration.

Fan Engagement

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

While creating my latest track, “Go On,” I had an interesting experience that perfectly captured its raw and powerful essence. During a studio session, a sudden power outage plunged the room into darkness. Instead of stopping, I continued playing acoustically by the light of my phone. This spontaneous moment infused the track with a mix of sadness and authenticity, turning an unplanned event into something beautifully raw.

What message do you want to convey through your music?

Just accepting sadness, that’s the reality of it all. Walk while you can, walk while you still have legs despite not feeling okay with it.

Behind the Music

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

I still experiment and try different sounds through production. I still try to make it consistent, and that was the hard part. With different styles, it was hard for me to progress in a steady phase. I needed to adjust every time, but as time went on, I got used to it and enjoyed every process of discovering.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

An artist named Heylog and Gothurted. They’re the ones that inspired me to create music when I was still young.

Future Aspirations

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

Hopefully making a new wave of Hip-hop here in the Philippines, setting a name for myself as a different kind of artist.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?

In a mix of Anime and Hip-hop filled with darkness, rage, and emotional feelings. I would steadily maintain this phase, with the correct public eyes. I would be known in my country and soon the world.
