My stage name is angUnique, and I’m from New Jersey.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
The story behind my stage name is that it is similar to my first birth name. My name is Angelique (French pronunciation), so I decided to make my stage name angUnique because it describes the content of creative music I create and storytelling music videos I produce.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
angUnique’s musical journey began with a passion for poetry and a desire to share her testimony through music. She focuses on uplifting and encouraging women, youth at risk, and all people with her positive messages.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
My latest track was a women empowerment song. It was very interesting to see the girls uplifting each other and spreading a positive message of womanhood.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
Positive messages, content people can relate to, and telling a story through my music.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
It’s hard to find a producer that fits my style, but I just keep grinding for the right sound, and I also pray God places that song for me.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
I would love to collaborate with Raheem DeVaughn, J. Cole, and Lauryn Hill.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I pray it takes me to connecting with others across the world and soon to be able to perform for communities and events uplifting all people.

My next big step is to collaborate with other artists and find ways for other platforms to hear my music.
