What’s the story behind your stage name?
It’s the first and second initial of my name, S-B thus creates Essi-Bee
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
My journey started as a bet with my friend, he told me I couldn’t write a song let alone make one. It was initially a moment of self discovery, which lead to me enjoying the transformation. Now, I seek enjoyment from the process, creating the lyrics, putting together the composition and creating the music.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
The uplifting setting and repetition of sections of the track to get them right, I don’t like to put things out there that are not complete. So making sure you nail down the track in all its glory is what makes music what it is!
What message do you want to convey through your music?
Truth, struggle, and self awareness!
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
I am not a mixing engineer so making sure it’s hitting what it needs is a struggle sometimes. But this is why it is important to work with some talented individuals that can excel your music.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
I have always been a huge fan of Dr Dre and the productions he does. That being said, Eminem was a huge influence on me as a teenager.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I have no idea, I don’t do this to be famous, and I don’t do it for money. I purely make music to seek dopamine from the process, and to allow others going through similar struggles to connect to my message.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Just to continue doing what I am doing, living life as it is meant to be lived and enjoying the experience.
