What’s your stage name and where are you from?
My stage name is KUB, and I’m from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
KUB is a nickname based on my name.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
I began making music with friends around the age of 17. I’ve always loved storytelling, and music became a creative outlet for me to express thoughts I kept inside and to tell personal stories. Six years later, I’m working on my 6th project, which delves deep into the challenges and growth I’ve experienced over the past year.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
I decided to keep all the production in-house for my latest project, collaborating only with long-time friends and family on very personal tracks.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
Life will always throw obstacles your way, but it’s up to you to use those obstacles to shape who you are and continue growing as a person.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
When I started making music, I worked alongside friends who enjoyed it as much as I did. But as time passed, it slowly became just me making music, which sometimes makes it hard to pull myself out of creative slumps.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
I would choose Russ because I’m a fan of his music, and I think our styles and versatility would complement each other.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I hope to continue growing as an artist, both sonically and lyrically.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
My first live performance.
We occasionally feature artists on our Bird of Paradise Podcast for in-depth discussions. Would this be something you’re interested in exploring?
Yes, 100%.
Are there any other promotional opportunities you’re looking for to boost your visibility?
I’m releasing a project the first weekend of November and would be interested in submitting it for an in-depth review.
Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?
You can hear “KUB – Ya win some, ya lose some” on all platforms.
What is the best way to contact you if fans want to give feedback or if other artists/producers want to collaborate?
Instagram @kubasack.
