My name is Pettikash, and I’m a Hip Hop/Rap Artist from Melbourne, Australia.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
The name Pettikash was given to me by my best friend. It started as a joke because I used to have the mentality that $5 or $50,000—money is money. My best friend used to laugh at the idea and gave me the name Pettikash. I sort of ran with it from there.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
Music has profoundly transformed my life, offering solace and understanding. It has helped me connect with myself and those around me on a deeper level. My journey through music has been both enlightening and a vital driving force in shaping who I am today.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
My latest track is about a close friend who passed away. I think the best part of creating the song was taking the last voice note he ever sent me and making it a part of the song.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
I aspire to reach and inspire others, showing them that they can achieve their dreams. Despite life’s distractions, I believe that with focus, hard work, and a positive mindset, anything is possible. It’s essential to embrace determination and resilience to accomplish your goals.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
I’m blessed to be surrounded by a great team, so the production has been smooth sailing, to be honest.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
I would love to work with Timbaland. I’ve always been a big fan of his sound, and it’s been a dream of mine to record on one of his productions.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
In the next year, I aim to be a more established artist and work with some international acts. I also want to do my first national tour next year.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
I’m working on a few things at the moment. At the moment, it’s one step at a time. The plan is to evolve.
