What’s the story behind your stage name?
Honestly, my stage name came from a friend. It wasn’t something I sat around thinking about or trying to make sound cool. It just happened naturally I’d say maybe 10th grade. They called me that one day, and it just stuck. At first, it was casual, but over time, it started to feel like it really fit me , like the name captured who I was, not just as an artist, but as a person. I didn’t need to force it. It just felt right. And as I kept growing, the name grew with me.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
My music started as a way to process what I couldn’t always say out loud. Heartbreak, loyalty, loss, and growth. Over time, it turned into a voice not just for me, but for people who’ve been through real, complicated connections like I have. Every song I drop is a piece of my story, and I’m just getting started telling it. Been doing it since a pee wee now it’s time to take it serious .
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
I Can’t Save You’ was actually the last song I added to the album, and it almost didn’t make it. I had just processed a deep shift in someone I was really close to, and that night, everything hit me hard. I opened up the session, no plan, no overthinking , just raw emotion ,and ended up creating something that felt like a final letter, like I was closing a chapter I didn’t expect to end that way.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
The message I want to share through my music is that growth comes from being honest with yourself ! even when it hurts. I’ve had to face parts of myself, let go of situations I held onto, and learn how to move with peace instead of pride. My music reflects that journey the in-between moments where you’re not lost, but you’re not all the way healed either . Just being real, evolving, and learning to love and celebrate yourself through it all .
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
Finding the perfect mix . My engineer and I have been working on this sound for some years now and I feel we have more to do but this is by far the most in tuned Ive had to be because I believed in all the songs .
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Honestly I’d say T-Pain. He’s the reason I even started using autotune in the first place. The way he blended melody, emotion, and creativity made me realize you could use your voice as an instrument. I used to download auto tune free trial back in the day with my cousins and we would all sing I can’t believe it . Def Tpain
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
Honestly to quote pac “I just want the money f*ck the fame I’m a simple man” I want my music to be able to reach and help people get through whatever it is theyre going through . You can turn Shigady on and the music resonates because we’re growing thru adversities
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Id love to collab with more artists . I’m going to start dropping visuals soon so be on the lookout. The love I’ve gotten from this album has just been amazing
