What’s your stage name and where are you from?
Faaathom, from Pittsburgh, PA. I live in Dallas, TX currently.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
I wanted a word that felt like it could capture what I wanted, which was to make deep, emotional music that could be understood.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
I started making music as a kid, around age 12 as fun little hobby with a buddy of mine. It very quickly shifted from being a hobby to an all consuming passion.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
It felt like every song on this album created itself, it was a constant flow once the idea was in place.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
That popular music can still have concepts and meaning.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
Doing everything in-house is a tough way to make an album. Limited funds and options means you have to just work till it’s right.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
OURSVSTHEIRS and Alysm, I already collaborate with them but we make gems so I want to keep doing that.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
To the big leagues, if I play my cards right.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
To get my album “i thought a lot aaabout this.” out to as many people as possible and make the next album even better.
