Artist Spotlight: Aott aka Axis from Dallas, Texas

What’s your stage name and where are you from?
I go by Aott aka Axis, and I’m Iranian-born. Originally from California, but now residing in Dallas, Texas.

What’s the story behind your stage name?
Aott stands for Axis on the track. I previously used to just go by Axis, but then I started making beats. So, I combined my producer tag with my stage name and came up with Aott.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
My musical journey is one of growth, exploration, and expression. I have honed my skills over time, experimenting with different styles and sounds. Through dedication and creativity, my music has become a reflection of passion and individuality.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
My latest track, True Shit, happened by accident. The beat for that song was originally for a different artist. Unfortunately, they backed out and decided they didn’t want the beat. I felt like the beat was too good to waste, so I decided to just use it for myself.

What message do you want to convey through your music?
My music is a reflection of life in all its dimensions—it’s a platform for self-expression, a source of empowerment, and a voice for change. I aim to connect with people by sharing stories that resonate, emotions that inspire, and rhythms that celebrate the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
Often, when producing or making music, you get writer’s block or simply get stuck on a beat. When this happens, I usually take a break for a week or so. I go out and get inspired, and then I revisit the project I was stuck on. Nine out of ten times, this method works for me.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
This is a tough question because there are so many artists I’d want on this list. But if I had to absolutely choose one, I would say Jadakiss. Simply because he’s a legend, and I’ve always loved his music!

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
Honestly, I don’t know because I mainly make music for fun. It’s something that I truly enjoy doing. But in the next year or so, ideally, I’d like to produce another album and market my production to where I’m selling more beats.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
For 2025, I have a few projects that I’m working on that I will be releasing throughout the year.

Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?
