Artist Spotlight: Autonomous Entity from Miami, FL

16

What’s your stage name and where are you from?
My stage name is Autonomous Entity, and I’m from Miami, FL.

What’s the story behind your stage name?
I’ve always been a bit of a loner, and my music pursuits reflect that, since I write, record, and produce everything on my own.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
Started as a hobby. Grew into a passion. And now finally arrived at a point where knowledge and passion combine for a quality product.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
There are over sixteen separate vocal tracks on each verse of “The Prophet,” which took me a bunch more than 16 takes to get. I was hoarse for a couple days after.

What message do you want to convey through your music?
It’s possible to recover from trauma and thrive.

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
I’ve been making music for a couple of years but really wanted this single and the album it’s from to sound more professional than anything I’ve done before, and it didn’t sound like that at first. I had a lot of time off this summer, so I spent it binging every resource I could find on proper production techniques, changed my whole production routine, and now I believe the result was well worth all that time.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Kid Cudi. Ever since college, his entire vibe and the style of music he creates have been right in line with the type of music I’d love to make.

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
Hopefully, momentum-wise, right into making another album. Also, a major increase in social media following.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
I have three more singles coming out after “The Prophet,” and then the album—Better Days—drops in December. From there… just keep making more music.

We occasionally feature artists on our Bird of Paradise Podcast for in-depth discussions. Would this be something you’re interested in exploring?
Yes.

Are there any other promotional opportunities you’re looking for to boost your visibility?
Anything that would increase my social media following.

Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?
I’m in the process of remastering all of my old music based on the production techniques I developed this summer. I’ll be re-releasing all of it in conjunction with the release of the four singles from my upcoming album Better Days (The Prophet is the first single from that album).

What is the best way to contact you if fans want to give feedback or if other artists/producers want to collaborate?
Email.
