My artist name is DIOS, and I’m from Portugal 🙂
What’s the story behind your stage name?
Actually, the name DIOS is the initials of my full name!!
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
Since I was little, I performed in music events at school. Then with university and stuff, there weren’t a lot of those events to perform 🙁 I started to post some videos singing on TikTok, Instagram, and later full covers on YouTube! I received a lot of love 🤗 Two years ago, I started to collect ideas for my future album, and since the beginning of this year, I started to make that album, and I couldn’t be prouder <3 it’s coming very, very soon (October).
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
So my latest track called “Off All Flowers (You)” was inspired by a recent love experience, and I needed to share the way I’m feeling and the way I’m seeing the world right now! Cause it’s so good to be loved <3
What message do you want to convey through your music?
Music helped me a lot during my life, but specifically on my healing journey. My wish is exactly that… I want my songs to feel like the best company you could ever have or like a support for tough times 🩷 (from the confident songs to the vulnerable ones). That’s my wish.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
My first two songs available on Spotify were recorded with the microphone of my iPhone 6s because I didn’t have a professional mic like a condenser one 🥲 Then I bought one from my best friend and released “Silence,” “Boys My Age,” and “Playboy,” which the last two are going to be on my upcoming album 🙂 Recently, my boy offered me a new one with better quality 🌸 It was very important to me and to my passion! There were some challenges I faced during production, such as recording in my basement without acoustic insulation :,) and sometimes there was a lot of noise going on in my house, which can be tiring! Still made my album and couldn’t be happier.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Definitely my idol Ariana Grande 💗 but that’s just in my dreams 😭 so if I need to come down to earth (impossible too, but) I would say Victoria Monet, FLO, Amelia Moore, Halle, The Japanese House, and THE DRIVER ERA.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I would really love to perform and be present at show events 💓 I love everything about the digital part, but singing live is the best feeling in the world!
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Releasing my upcoming album and performing it at concerts 🙏🏻🌷
