What’s your stage name and where are you from?
I go by Bagdaleno and I’m from Murrieta, CA.

What’s the story behind your stage name?
I used to go by my nickname, but it became a little too played out. So I decided to switch it up but still keep my real name involved. My last name is Magdaleno, so I just threw a B in front of it.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
Tough, relentless, adaptive.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
I was making a beat right after I got back from my dad’s memorial. It wasn’t like most of my stuff, so I almost scrapped it, but I just said screw it and tried to be as honest as possible while writing the lyrics.

What message do you want to convey through your music?
That people should do what they love regardless of the outcome.

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
I face challenges almost every time I produce music, but I just don’t give up and make sure that it’s up to my standards.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Thom Yorke, because I’ve always wanted to hear someone rap on his productions.

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
Doesn’t really matter to be honest. Whether my plays stay low or I randomly blow up, I’m still gonna be making music.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
I would love to go on tour sometime.

We occasionally feature artists on our Bird of Paradise Podcast for in-depth discussions. Would this be something you’re interested in exploring?
Yes.

Are there any other promotional opportunities you’re looking for to boost your visibility?
Yes, just music promo on social media since that’s what rules the music industry now.

Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?
All my latest songs and videos are on Spotify and YouTube. Just look up “Bagdaleno” and it should pop up.

What is the best way to contact you if fans want to give feedback or if other artists/producers want to collaborate?
Instagram.
