What’s your stage name and where are you from?
Index Dex
What’s the story behind your stage name?
It was my cousin’s music name—his name was DeadlyIndex, so I changed it to Index Dex to suit me and my music better. The reason I took his name was that I moved to a new school, and after a few weeks, I got on the mic during lunch break. After spitting some bars, I was asked what my name was, and since I didn’t have one, the first thing that came to my mind was my cousin’s name.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
“And awaking of my inner hero,
Brave and changing,
No such thing as losing.”
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
I got to perform for Steven Van Doran. He’s from the Vans family.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
I want to show and tell that nothing is impossible.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
I don’t produce myself, so it’s always a challenge to get what I want—the sound I’m looking for. The challenge has been not settling unless I’m happy. It’s important not to overdo it, but sometimes when you know what you want, you know.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Sjava. He sounds like it’s God singing—he goes straight to the soul.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I already see myself on top of my game musically.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
My next big step would be to do a big tour and release a full album or EP.
We occasionally feature artists on our Bird of Paradise Podcast for in-depth discussions. Would this be something you’re interested in exploring?
Yes.
Are there any other promotional opportunities you’re looking for to boost your visibility?
Always.
Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?
Watch here.

When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get three emails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove me from that service? Bless you!
