What’s the story behind your stage name?
I wanted to use my real name
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
I write cinematic jazztronica, traversing sonic boundaries and defying genres to bring you a soundtrack for your day. I’m originally from Melbourne, Australia. I moved to New York City in 2016 on a one way ticket. I’ve played everywhere from dive bars to major concert halls, had my music performed by orchestras, played in festivals and international cinemas. I write for film, tv and multimedia projects.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
My latest track, TOUCHÉ HOMBRE, started in 2019, and wasn’t finished until 2021. I originally wrote it to be a lo-fi beat. After touring the US with a show called FUNKEDIFIED, I was inspired by much of the heavy funk influences of the show from Bootsy Collins, Rogers and Zapp, Parliament Funkadelic. I brought this experience into creating face melting synth sounds.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
Life is multifaceted with layers of beauty and complexity. I hope this music resonates and helps to unlock feelings where words can be inadequate to express. I write this music to be the soundtrack to your day, whether for workday focus, relaxation, chilling, or to get hyped.
Behind the Music
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
The biggest challenge was backing myself to release this track. At the time I started it, I didn’t have a platform to release my own music. I create tons of ideas, but I didn’t finish them. I overcame this by just pushing myself to complete this track, and now it’s out there!!
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
I’d love to collaborate with Jay Kay and the Jamiroquai squad. This band was iconic for me, their writing and production so influential in more ways than I think I understand now. I think we’d hit it off and make some spicy tunes.
Future Aspirations
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
Just keeping on my own path, executing my own vision. There’s so much more music in the demo stage ready to be made.
