What’s your name and where are you from?

Nutso from Flushing/Corona Queens NY

What’s the story behind your stage name?

Everyone called me P’Nut and Nut growing up and later I was known as Nut-rageous which transitioned to Nutso

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.

From freestylin’ in the back of the projects, corner bodegas to open mics and local events; NY Rican Poets Cafe and Fat Beats. My music has played on Hot 97 and Sirius XM. I’ve had the opportunity to travel & perform overseas (Spain, Japan, Sweden, Canary Islands) and I have done music with some of the legends from Redman, The Beatnuts, Craig G, Royal Flush, Mic Geronimo, Kool G Rap & many more.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

I enjoy making songs off my own production. I make the beat, write the song, direct and I also enjoy collaborating with my team and legends in the industry.

What message do you want to convey through your music?

To be aware is to be alive. I make movies. I tell stories. I’m a street reporter. Sometimes it’s just news from the hoods, from horror, thrillers & comedy to real life current events.

Behind the Music

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

Chopping up samples or not saving files on an analog beat machine. I practiced until I got really good at it and ensure to save all my work.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

Jadakiss b/c he is one of my top 5 MCs and is highly respected. I would love to work with Eminem, 50 Cent and Nas all for the same reason.

Future Aspirations

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

I’m working on a solo project and bringing new artists to the game.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?

Working on a hip hop documentary.
