Artist Introduction
What’s your name and where are you from?
Taylor Mayd – Cambridge, UK
What’s the story behind your stage name?
I wanted a stage name that could actually be someones real name but also involved some word play. Taylor Made implies everything track i make is created uniquely, that’s the “Taylor” (Tailor) part of the name. Mayd comes from the date of my birthday. (May 10th)
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
Creative, Collaborative, Cladestine
Fan Engagement
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
This track was a “full circle” project for the 3 main artists that make up S23 Productions. S.Y.X, Tone Blanco and myself. S.Y.X and Oscar Corney had a chance encounter that lead to the introduction of myself and SYX and since then most of my music has been produced by SYX and released along side S23productions. I owe alot to S23.
Behind the Music
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
Because the style of the latest release is slightly different to the typical music we make, one of the challenges was getting the right base. This actually ended up being added by the sound engineer post production.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Im open to colloboration with anyone. If the project sounds right, i’m up for it.
Future Aspirations
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
Hopefully anywhere on an upwards trojectory. We’ve got a few gigs lined up and a festival booking in the summer so to gain some new fans is the goal.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
To have something we’ve made go further in the commercial world. Maybe a big radio station plays pur track. Besides that, getting booked for bigger gigs or festivals.
