What’s your stage name and where are you from?
The Dignitaries hail from Buffalo, NY.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
Coming from Buffalo’s rough streets, our journey is about more than just music—it’s about representing our community. We chose the name “The Dignitaries” to reflect authority, influence, and the dignity of our narratives.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
We began as part of Da FAM, a larger rap collective, where we stood out as a duo. This led to the birth of The Dignitaries and launching our joint label, Native Alien. Our journey is about expanding our vision beyond just music.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
We had a well-known artist eager to feature on “Let’s Talk,” but they couldn’t catch the flow and eventually passed on the track. Now that it’s gaining momentum, they regret missing out, reminding us to trust our instincts.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
We want to convey that your voice matters, regardless of your background. Our music is about resilience, authenticity, and elevating overlooked stories.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
Living in different states made collaboration difficult, but we overcame it through late-night calls, virtual writing sessions, and traveling when needed.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Timbaland, because his innovative production style has inspired us since our youth.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
We aim to grow our network, expand our digital presence, and connect with industry professionals while leveraging our label, Native Alien.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Deepening connections with listeners by creating content that resonates with their experiences.
We occasionally feature artists on our Bird of Paradise Podcast for in-depth discussions. Would this be something you’re interested in exploring?
Yes.
Are there any other promotional opportunities you’re looking for to boost your visibility?
We’re open to all opportunities that align with our vision.
Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?
Our projects are available on all major DSPs under The Dignitaries and our individual stage names.
