Velly Marsh, I’m born and raised in Sacramento. I’ve been living in Las Vegas for the last 6 years though.

My actual name is Anthony Marshall, all my family members call me by my middle name, Lovell, and one of the variations is Velly. My uncle Darryl was the one who influenced me to shorten Marshall to Marsh.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.

Learning about myself more than anything through writing. I treat music like a life documentary, it’s sort of like my diary. I hope others enjoy the music but truthfully most of the songs I make are for myself.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

The interesting experience I had while creating the album was working with an engineer from Philadelphia. I think we had a cool dynamic and I learned a lot from the conversations I’ve had with him. Great energy for the sessions, salute to The Sound Gallery in Las Vegas!

What message do you want to convey through your music?

The main thing I want to convey is my experience and the way I see life on earth. I want to document my life through audio in the form of hip hop. I want to keep progressing in music and in life and I hope that is the key takeaway from listening to my catalog, never give up on yourself and keep moving forward!

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

My biggest challenge I faced during the creation process is working a real job while trying to create. My job demands a lot from me, physically and mentally. It’s challenging to maintain my energy throughout the process. I overcame it by sacrificing time in other areas of my life to create instead.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

I have so many it’s hard to choose one, but if I had to pick one, I would say Mach-Hommy. I just think his work is incredible and very inspiring.

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

Want to see progression in various different forms relating to music. I want to be better at creating and make more relatable music. I want to see growth in following online. I want to build on my foundation and expand further than my region. Lastly, I want to perform more often.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?

I would say maybe seeking to build a team, I’m starting to see that I need help in the business side of music. I believe I’m more of an artisan entrepreneur, would like to work with people who are opportunistic entrepreneurs to see a different point of view.

Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?

You can listen to my latest work on all music platforms!
