AWOL Da Mindwriter, an emcee hailing from Long Island, NY, joins forces with producer August Fanon for their latest single, “Golden Gun.” AWOL’s emergence as a solo artist in recent years has seen collaborations with notable figures such as Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, A-F-R-O, Charles Hamilton, and The Doppelgangaz. “Golden Gun” serves as the first leak from AWOL Da Mindwriter and August Fanon’s forthcoming collaborative project. The track features AWOL’s dynamic lyricism over an organ and drum break background, as he spits bars reflecting on his uniqueness in the game. The title pays homage to 90’s gaming systems, particularly Sega’s Golden Gun from “House Of The Dead.” The single marks AWOL’s first release since last year’s SEGA-AM2 (Part II) LP, fully produced by JHershey.
