J Flash, an independent artist hailing from Los Angeles, recently dropped his latest album, “The Arrival,” under AOne Records this August. J Flash’s journey into the hip-hop realm began in South Whittier, where he first immersed himself in the culture as a B-Boy during the Mid-90s. Over the years, he diligently honed his rhyming skills, culminating in 2010 when he and AOne established The IllStarz. Together, they recorded an EP titled “Merchant of Dreams” and graced stages across Los Angeles and Orange County. Though still in a raw and formative phase, the project was entirely produced by AOne.
Fast forward to 2023, and J Flash, alongside AOne, is back in action. Their latest release, “The Arrival,” demonstrates a more refined and matured sound. This time, AOne took on the role of executive producer, allowing J Flash to shine over beats curated by renowned producers like NOTTZ, Stu Bangas, Da Beatminerz, DJ Skizz, and Nicholas Craven. The album also boasts collaborations with esteemed emcees including RJ Payne, Mickey Factz, ETO, Flee Lord, and one of J Flash’s contemporary influences, Termanology. “The Arrival” showcases J Flash’s commanding presence and a production style that resonates deeply with seasoned hip-hop aficionados.
