Chillhop Music just brought this cut for the collectors to break down and critique:
Direct word from the kitchen: Sleepy Fish is back with a new album, Something Forgotten. The first solo LP since 2021, this project is a tender and delicate offering. Tranquil and calming, soothing and smooth. Gentle guitars and hushed pianos dance alongside vocal layers and guiding drums. It’s reflective, it’s nostalgic, it’s exactly what you want when you press play on a Sleepy Fish record.
This 30 minute project takes place in an underwater landscape reminiscent of the original trilogy. Sleepy Fish is comfortable in this sunken urban environment, void of humans and slowly being reclaimed by sea life. The feeling is bittersweet. Melancholic yet hopeful. Reflective yet looking ahead. Beautifully and blissfully blue.
