It is a time, when attention has become money and when peace is pixelated, and here comes a surprise antidote by H-dMan. His June 18 th release, the Slovakia-based artist (born Slavomir) constructs an emotionally acerbic and sonically free-flowing meditation that can be both majestic and microscopic. Inspired by the alt rock, indie pop, retro soul and a pinch of hip-hop haze, it is not a song that demands to go viral, but a soothing nudge on the shoulder, a somber reminder that time is better felt than hunted.
H-dMan was born in Martin (Slovakia) and is the type of non-ostentatious innovator who genres cross on purpose. His art is not made to look commercial the way and is satisfied to wander around in contemplation, the beats of late night, multicultural chatting at the cafes, and the very peculiar sweet pain only a good week can provide. As the lyrics in Spanish touch on a dreamy horn and the synths fade in with the sound of a humming city at dusk, the song became one more postcard and an inbuilt map of a certain direction.
