Artist Introduction

What’s your name and where are you from?

Cloud Klaus from London

What’s the story behind your stage name?

I have family in Germany and really enjoyed going to visit them and also going on my own so I took Klaus from that. I wanted another word that helped it roll off the tongue so I came up with Cloud Klaus. I originally had it as A Cloud Called Klaus but I shortened it for ease of remembering

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.

Loved video game music so taught myself piano to play the songs. Realised I loved making music in general so made it my mission to make it my career. Now I write and produce songs for others whilst starting to make a name for myself as a solo artist

Fan Engagement

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

I wrote it right after being laid off from my job and whilst packing to move out of my flat because I had a lot of emotions to get out

What message do you want to convey through your music?

Be unapologetically yourself!

Behind the Music

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

Finding the correct key I wanted to sing in. I would write in one key and realise it was on the edge of my head voice and falsetto, drop it and then it was on the edge of my chest and head voice. I kept it there and just pushed myself to hit the notes in the correct voice.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

Jamiroquai or The Neptunes because they are the biggest musical influences I have

Future Aspirations

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

I don’t want to have to go back to the corporate life so I want to be able to live off my music. I don’t want a fancy life. I’d be happy to just be able to feed myself and pay the bills as long as I get to create

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?

I think doing some shows and turning my album into a live experience
