Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
I started my musical journey deeply rooted in the G-Funk style, drawing inspiration from the smooth, synthesizer-based hooks and laid-back beats of 90s West Coast hip-hop Dj Quik, Dre, Daz Studio Ton and Mike Mosely . As a producer and artist, I distinguished myself with innovative blends, incorporating elements of funk, R&B, and soul to create a rich, melodic backdrop for storytelling through rap. Over the years, my sound evolved to incorporate modern influences while maintaining the distinct, relaxed vibe that originally defined the G-Funk era.

not specifically, but working with overseas beat makers, i take it from there, is cool. You are able to vibe with literally people all over the globe. in other words Working on my latest track was a unique experience because it involved collaborating with beat makers from different parts of the world. It’s incredible how technology allows us to connect and vibe with people globally, transcending geographical boundaries. I’d receive beats and samples from producers in Europe, Asia, and South America, each bringing their own cultural influences and styles into the mix. This global collaboration not only enriched the sound of the track but also broadened my own musical perspectives. It’s fascinating to see how music can be a universal language, bringing together diverse talents to create something truly special.I have always loved g funk music and west coast gangter music and was blessed to see and be involved from the start.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
The message behind my music as Oyster Pep, also known as Lil Kriz, lol , is about authenticity, resilience, and the power of self-expression, while also aiming to make people dance all over the world. I craft each track to not only tell stories that resonate with the struggles and triumphs of everyday life but also to create a vibrant, upbeat atmosphere that invites everyone to the dance floor. By blending the laid-back vibes of G-Funk with elements of soul, R&B, and infectious rhythms, my music serves as a universal call to enjoy life, celebrate the moment, and connect with each other through dance.

Kurupt, , Kurupt due to his profound impact on my music and his embodiment of true lyrical prowess. His work, especially during the heyday of the G-Funk era, showcased a unique blend of sharp lyricism and smooth flow, which deeply influenced my approach to music production and rap. Kurupt’s ability to tell compelling stories through his verses and maintain a strong, impactful presence on tracks makes him an ideal collaborator for me. His style resonates with my desire to merge meaningful narratives with rhythmic beats, aiming to create tracks that are both thought-provoking and groove-inducing.
