Artist Introduction

What’s your stage name and where are you from?

The stage name I go by is “Prafecy” I am from Brampton Canada. Brampton is a fairly short distance from Toronto where I was born and briefly raised for a small period of my life.

What’s the story behind your stage name?

“Prafecy” was inspired from “Prophecy” It was a name I used from a young age due to my upbringing within Christian faith and wanting to represent a message in the future that reflected God throughout my artistry.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.

My musical journey has been a process of trial and error in terms of perfecting my sound, and doubling down on the best kind of music that sparked fire in me. Basically taking the pros with the cons for what I love doing.

Fan Engagement

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

On my song “Blood On The Moon” the second verse was about Elon Musk’s Nerualink company and a separate statement he made about hell. Originally as I was writing I didn’t want the whole verse to surround these two specific topics, but it flowed so naturally with the overall theme of the song so I didn’t want to change it.

What message do you want to convey through your music?

One that conveys a passion of artistry within Hip Hop beyond just simply entertainment. Also more importantly a message that provokes thought and faith in God.

Behind the Music

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

Beat selection and truly finding something that matches my current feelings, ideas, and lyrics, can be a challenge at times. I’m sure other artists can relate to that as well. As I was creating “Hollywood Nightmare” I touched on many topics and I knew it wouldn’t be a short song by any means. Which is why it made sense to me to take an old school approach and get my hands on a beat with 3 verses. Unless you’re in direct contact with a producer to craft an instrumental to your liking most beats don’t come with 3. Thankfully I had one I didn’t use in recent years and it fit the mood of Hollywood Nightmare.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

Nas is a name that comes to mind. One of the first Hip Hop songs I heard growing up was “I Can” and I’ve been a fan since then. A lot of his music as most know is intricately written within stories and a high level of introspection. That’s something I respect as an artist myself.

Future Aspirations

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

More growth and recognition. I’m currently focused on my current EP “Blood On The Moon” and I am confident this project can be something special within the coming year.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?

The next big step for me would to have a single or project that becomes a staple of my brand. Something that stands out as a statement made for others who are unfamiliar with my art.
