What’s the story behind your stage name?
“Trio” because I am an artist, producer, and writer, “Profit” is a metaphor for the biblical spelling of “Prophet” sounding like what most of us glorify today…profit
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
I’ve turned down deals in order to keep the music authentic. My music is inspirational, it speaks to a specific struggle, and It focuses on the come up story and what’s to come. I am the Chicago goat.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
The last track recorded for “BOOM…Next thing you know” was “Whole Time” and I wanted Gauge featured on it. He missed the studio session and I had a personal deadline, so instead I sampled an unreleased verse of his and added it to the end of the track
What message do you want to convey through your music?
No one can be you as well as you…so lets go all in. My message is that I am GREAT, and you could be too. Lets block out all the BS and be our best selves, however that may look
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
During production of this project I lost my old interface, and the newer model ones were not compatible with my DAW, so in order to complete this project I had to buy a new set up and learn how to work abelton. “IRL” is the first track I mixed myself
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Doechii at the moment! Her visuals, music, and overall presentation is super dope and authentic. I think she would push me and challenge my pen in order to make the best song
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
Hopefully to some festival stages, opening act to some bigger names, etc. I don’t care if it 5 or 5000 people in the crowd, I’ma do my stuff lol. Im ready for whatever opportunities come my way
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Videos, videos, videos! I’m a huge fan of cinema directors (Spike Lee, Rob Zombie, Michael Key) and therefore I am super picky on how my videos are shot and edited. I need to either develop the skill myself, or lock in with a video director who doesn’t want to be normal or cliche.
