What’s your stage name and where are you from?
Miles Anthony and I’m from Philadelphia
What’s the story behind your stage name?
I went by a few different aliases and the difficult part is finding something that sticks. I got tired of that process and didn’t want to feel like my stage name was a character I needed to portray so I went with my government name. So who you hear on records is authentically me.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
My musically is one that was long and arduous. Full of self reflection. A process I enjoy regardless of the destination.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
The track “Bonzi & Wallace” features a Philly artist 16 year old me admired named Young Hot who was a monster in the rap DVD era of the city and thru circumstance we became friends recently and I sent him the finished version of the song to get his opinion not knowing he had a verse for it. So it was dope to get into some lyrical sparing with someone who helped my pen develop since a kid.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
Real life honestly. I always try to bring very human emotions into my music and a level of catharsis.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
Well, a different version of Indigoland was completely finished in November of 2024 and something about the music wasn’t resonating how I wanted it to. I didn’t feel like I was being my authentic self so me and my engineer/producer scratch the whole project. I sat with myself for a few weeks and really thought about the musical direction and in 3 months we created the best version of that project.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
So many to choose from but I would either say J. Cole because lyrically he just bombs everything and I feel like I could hold my own if the circumstances were right. And production wise either Just Blaze or Alchemist.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
Lord knows but outside of my own creative growth I see myself doing more features with artists across the country and getting a chance to be more present internationally.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Indigoland was a huge undertaking and the next step I’ve been thinking about is “How do we elevate artistically from here and how do we reach more people?” and I think I know the answer but don’t want to get too ahead of myself in the process.
Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?
My music is on ALL streaming platforms. If you see a jukebox, hell it might be on there too.
