What’s your stage name and where are you from?
My stage name is PTK LothBrook, and I’m from Detroit, Michigan.

What’s the story behind your stage name?
My name is inspired by the true story of Ragnar Lothbrok, a mere farmer (a pawn) who lost everything and rose up to become a fearless warrior and commander of the Viking tribes (King). Pawn To a King (PTK) LothBrook.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
My journey is based upon real-life experiences of sex, drugs, and pain. My music is very parallel to my life, starting from the deep depths of misery and emerging triumphantly. The journey of my side of the story has just begun.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
“Love Language” was the first born of its kind from me. I stepped into a whole new genre of instrumentals that I normally steered far from. I had no choice—it spoke to me immediately upon pressing play!

What message do you want to convey through your music?
Ultimatums are another form of betrayal; envy disguises itself as love and loyalty.

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
I’m the most camera-shy artist you’ll ever meet. My first video production was so nerve-wracking! I had no idea how to act a script or how to look on the camera. My team played a huge role in supporting and encouraging me to stand tall and showcase the talents that the universe blessed me with. They accepted no excuses for failure—they pushed me through it, and the production turned out amazing!

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
On the heartbreak music, it would for sure be Krash Minati and Doobie from SCFMG! But when it comes down to spitting bars, hands down, I have to say Lil Wayne and Yelawolf!

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
Straight into the ears of those who are struggling through pain and heartache, suffering and agony, loss and loneliness. I want to be a voice that lets them know we will get through this, one step at a time.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Continue to showcase my artwork, collaborations, and most importantly, staying engaged with the fans.
