Can a voice that helped define industrial metal build something just as dangerous outside the machine it helped create?
Burton C. Bell is about to put that question on Canadian stages, and the interesting part isn’t the nostalgia. It’s what comes after it.
The founding Fear Factory vocalist and lyricist spent more than three decades as a defining presence in the band’s story. That history carries weight, but history can also become a cage. Everybody knows the voice. Everybody knows the legacy. The real test is what happens when a veteran artist stops leaning on the past and starts building a new language for the future.

Enter Burton C. Bell and The Void.
Bell has spent the past two years assembling a new group of musicians and shaping a project described as heavy, groovy, dark and moody. Those words suggest a familiar kind of sonic pressure, but the stated ambition is bigger than simply revisiting old territory. This is a new creative space with its own identity, built around a voice that already knows how to make heaviness feel human.
And that distinction matters. Metal has never lacked for volume. What sticks is the tension underneath it — the unease, the groove, the sense that something is grinding away beneath the surface. Bell’s next chapter has an opportunity to explore that territory without asking the past to do all the talking.
The first Canadian run is compact: four shows in December, spread across Quebec and Ontario. Think of it as an early look at a project gathering momentum before a busier 2027. Four nights won’t answer every question about where The Void is headed, but they offer something recorded music alone cannot: a chance to feel how this new lineup occupies a room.
Four nights. No hiding behind the legacy.
