Psych Major, the self-proclaimed “producer of disgruntled sounds,” hails from New York City, birthed around the same time as Hip-Hop. Immersed in the golden age of “boom-bap” and DIY punk/hardcore, his musical journey began with the release of the “Noise Is the Trigger EP” in 2010. As one-half of the duo Noise Is The Trigger with Boston emcee Dagha, Psych Major’s sonic expressions have featured collaborations with Lil Dap, Smoothe The Hustler, Al-J, and more. After hiatuses, he returned with a series of potent singles in 2021 and 2022, featuring notable artists like Jamal Gasol, Bub Styles, Ras Kass, and Raf Almighty. Marking his return to emceeing with the alias Psych 101, he is set to release his debut solo EP, “The Late Starter,” in December 2023, featuring collaborations with Young Zee, Ruste Juxx, Shabaam Sahdeeq, MidaZ The BEAST, Squeegie Oblong, and others.
