What’s the story behind your stage name?
TRU stands Truth Rulez The Universe. As an early music producer my tag name was Trulez pronounced T Rulez. Later I began to go by Joey TRU. JOEY stands for Join Our Eternal Youth!
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
I’ve always loved music, but I started making music in 2019 as a producer with the intention of eventually rhyming on my own beats

Being able to record 3 tracks on the album “DeLight” “Trust” and “Respect The Truth” at the Birthplace Of Hip Hop in the Bronx
What message do you want to convey through your music?
That the truth is within all of us, and when you live in that truth divine things happen.
Behind the Music
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
The biggest challenge was when others would give criticism without knowing the full vision and just giving negative input that didn’t help the overall project, which taught me to listen to my own judgments moving forward.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
The Underachievers. Because they always inspired me growing up.
