What’s your stage name and where are you from?

BRB Music, I’m from West Palm Beach, Florida!

What’s the story behind your stage name?

BRB is actually my initials, so I took that and ran with it. Most people think it means “be right back” though.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.

My musical journey over the past 4 1/2 years has been a roller coaster with so many blessings in between. From starting off marketing myself as a motivational rapper to moving more into the Christian rap space the past couple years, it has been a journey worth taking. I have seen God’s hand in the process, and my progress since the beginning is undeniable.

Fan Engagement

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

Creating my newest song, Never Alone, it was an interesting experience crafting the hook. Originally, I had the first few lines at a slower tempo. Looking at it later on, I decided to change it up, keeping the same message but speeding up the tempo to make a punchy, impactful hook.

What message do you want to convey through your music?

I desire to inspire hope through the music I create, demonstrating to people that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and the only one worth living for. Talking about my personal struggles and how I strive to God to get through them is another powerful aspect that I desire to tie in, as I hope my music will draw people closer to God in the midst of their struggles.

Behind the Music

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

In the early years of my music career, my production quality was not up to par. Over the last 3-4 years, I have worked incredibly hard to improve and have seen the fruits of my labor. Specific instances of production problems would be times when I’ve had to re-record full songs after looking back at them for the first time in months, and I was able to overcome this through recording take after take to get the song to sound how I wanted it to.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

Currently, out of any artist, I’d choose Hulvey to collaborate with. Hulvey is a Spirit-led artist making an impact in millions of lives with the Gospel, which is what I strive to do as well. Partnering with an artist like that would be an influential collaboration for the Kingdom, planting millions of seeds around the world.

Future Aspirations

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

I’m planning to drop an album near the end of the summer (not announced yet), and I’m excited to see where God takes it. I’ve told some people this, but I feel like my music is finally industry-standard level, so I’m looking forward to seeing the growth! I’m going to keep dropping consistently after the album as well.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?

Dropping this album! I was thinking about dropping every 2 weeks after that, but I’ll have to see if it’s sustainable. Besides that, getting some more big features would help, and continuing to effectively market my music on social media.
