What’s your stage name and where are you from?
Hi, I’m Kiwiliwi, and I’m from Sweden, specifically a small town in the southern part of the country.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
I’ve been called Kiwi for many years, which became my nickname, and I stuck with it. But I decided to change it up a little, and Kiwiliwi is the result of that.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
I started off by doing funny songs with friends; my first song I released, “Happy Birthday,” is one of them. Then I decided to take a course and learn how to produce and create music professionally. Now this has become my main hobby, and I love it.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
Before making my latest song, I took a few weeks’ break from producing. Then, when I made the beat for the song, everything just clicked, and I made it in an hour or so. It’s amazing how sometimes you can get such a creative spark, and it pushes and motivates you.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
The songs I have released are just me having fun. The music I make brings me joy, and I just want to share it and hope it can impact others. I am working on a lot of new music with emotions, messages of a broken world, overcoming issues and personal problems, and how things get better.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
I’ve had periods where I made 10 beats a day for weeks and tend to get burned out and feel stuck from it. There is definitely such a thing as doing too much. When this happens, I take a break for a week or two and focus on having fun with friends. After the break, it feels like I am reborn with more creativity than ever before, and that’s when I make my best music!
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
My idol is YE, formerly known as Kanye West. I have grown up listening to him, and I would truly love to work with him someday.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I can see my music getting more acknowledged, and getting a fanbase would be amazing. I love art generally, and I want to make merch and videos together with my music.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
My next big step is to release my debut album. I’ve been working on it for a while, and I can’t wait to share it with the world!
