What’s your stage name and where are you from?

Shaggy Jacko and I’m from Aylesbury, Bucks.

What’s the story behind your stage name?

I always wanted a nickname my whole time growing up and my name was always too short for one but when I went uni my friends there all started calling me Shaggy, cos I looked like the character from Scooby Doo so when I made my first EP and needed a name I thought Shaggy Jacko was perfect!

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.

Figuring it out. Refining my style & feeling more at home on the mic.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

My latest track ‘Rack or Suttin’ was made with 3 of my homies at a studio in Brighton. My friend Ben produced the beat and Zim Trippy & Uncle Ace dropped crazy verses the way we always do! I remember us playing it on the car journey home and all just being blown away by the vibes

What message do you want to convey through your music?

I wanna just be myself through my music and express my thoughts.

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

Having too many bars!

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

My dream collaboration would be Tyler, the Creator! He’s been my favourite artist since 2011 and has inspired me so much the way he’s able to pivot each time while remaining true to himself

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

Hopefully start doing more shows and more music videos for people to enjoy
