Vendetta the Vision, Long Island NY

Vendetta is a name inspired by the graphic novel and movie V for Vendetta…”the Vision” part of my stage name is inspired from always having a vision I want to make reality

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.

I started off as a poet and writer in high school and fell in love with hip hop and alt rock which inspired me to become a musician. Through out college and after I formed my old band Hollywood drive-by that was a rap rock group. Now as a solo artist I use my music for art therapy, to get things off my stress, speak about mental help and bring awareness to what’s going on in the streets and in society.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

On the song “Apparitions” I was in a really bad state of mind and bad place in life and I decided to do something most people would normally do and be brutally honest about myself and my shortcomings knowing this song would be shared with family, friends, fans and the public. But when it was done it felt like the shackles were thrown off.

What message do you want to convey through your music?

Self love, mental health awareness and fighting for the rights of the havenots

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

Writing a concept album or an album with a consistent lyrical theme from beginning to end is extremely challenging. Keeping everything on track and relevant to each other was a huge challenge that required a lot of focus and going back to the drawing board.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

My number one obvious choice would be my best friend and artist/actor/rapper Rocksteady aka Jason Galloza. The creative chemistry is unmatched there. If there was big mainstream artist I’d want to collaborate with it’d be Run the Jewels or Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

Playing more shows, making new fans, and collaborating with more artists

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?

Keep grinding, keep making new music, and expanding the fan base.
