From Akron, Zhake has been gradually building his own sound through being honest and recording at night. The feelings in his previous music sound much like NF, Juice WRLD and XXXTentacion and his newest single, “What’s The Point”, is a direct, unfiltered look into himself, heavy with questions.

On March 15, 2025, “What’s The Point” brings to light the sense of exhaustion at the end of a journey, even when you have not been noticed. It doesn’t have a dramatic feel—it feels realistic. The beginning of the track draws you into his world, as he delivers with a feeling of confession along with confrontation. The song’s burst of feeling strikes hard, just as your late-night mirror look would with a straightforward, strong honesty that isn’t searching for attention.

This record didn’t aim for mainstream success—and that’s the intention. He made this album at home and the special feeling comes from the kind of care only real intimacy can provide. All my words seem rooted in something that happened just before I speak. You can feel the separation. The hope in what they say is barely recognizable. It’s the sort of track that you stop your music for.

His music is simple, but his lyrics are far from it—they’re very meaningful. All we have now are lines that reflect the plight of those who feel lost, overthink everything and wonder if they matter to the world.
