What’s your stage name and where are you from?

I go by BR33Z WORLD, with 3’s instead of E’s. I’m San Francisco born, Oakland raised but Fillmore made me.

What’s the story behind your stage name?

I got the name BR33Z because of how I move and how I make things look easy. Then it became BR33Z WORLD because it’s bigger than just the music now. It’s the whole world i’m building. BR33Z WORLD represents everything I’m building around the music. It’s my story, my sound, my fashion, my vision and the people who connect with it. It’s bigger than just one song or one album. I’m building a whole brand, lifestyle and legacy around who I am.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.

My music journey has been about turning everything I’ve lived through into something people can feel. I built BR33Z WORLD independently, investing in my sound, visuals and brand while continuing to grow with every release. Now I’m telling that story on a bigger level through BLACK HEART, PURPLE HEART and KISS OF DEATH, and I’m only getting started.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

One thing I really enjoyed while creating my latest track was building the transitions between rapping and harmonizing. That’s always been part of my style, using the switch to give the song different breakdowns and emotions. I’m the only one on the record, so layering my own vocals and bouncing between deliveries is how I get those textures while keeping it all BR33Z WORLD.

What message do you want to convey through your music?

The message I want to convey through my music is that what ever you’ve been through doesn’t have to be the end of your story. I talked about pain, survival, the streets, love, loss and everything that comes with real life because I want people to feel like somebody understands where they’re coming from. If somebody can hear my music and feel stronger, less alone or motivated to keep going, then I did what I was supposed to do.

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

One challenge during production was getting the emotion in the record to match what I was hearing in my head. Some songs need different vocal layers, harmonies and deliveries before they really felt complete, so I wasn’t afraid to go back in and redo parts until they hit the way they were supposed to. I overcame it by being patient with the process and not settling just because a song was technically finished. I wanted every record to actually feel finished.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

If I could collaborate with any artist, it’d be Dr. Dre. He’s one the GOATs of the West Coast productions. His beats and his ear could really push my sound to a whole other level.

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

In the next year, I see my music reaching a much bigger audience and BR33Z WORLD continuing to grow as a brand. I want to keep releasing strong projects, bigger visuals and expanding into more live shows, press and opportunities that put the music in front of new people. The goal is to keep building independently, stay consistent and take everything I’ve created to the next level.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?

The next big step for me is taking everything I learned from BLACK HEART and leveling it up with PURPLE HEART. I want to make the rollout bigger, the visuals stronger, reach more people and keep building BR33Z WORLD into something that lasts beyond just one album.
