Artist Introduction
What’s your stage name and where are you from?
My stage name is Elysium! I am originally from Romania, but currently based in the UK
What’s the story behind your stage name?
The name Elysium stands from classical mythology. In classical mythology Elysium, also known as the Elysian Fields, was the paradise reserved for the heroes immortalized by the Gods. Ancient Greek poets imagined it as the abode of the blessed after death. In easy words, I interpreted it as a place or condition of ideal happiness and this is how making music made me feel, it put me in a state of happiness and self accomplishment for putting my thoughts, ideas and creativity for the world to listen to.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
I started as a rapper, channeling my personal experiences into my music. Despite lacking formal musical training, I’ve crafted a unique sound that’s been a slow but fulfilling journey. Each track I release is not just a song but a testament to my growth, making the process both fun and motivating.

Oh man, working on “Bow Down” was a wild ride! I teamed up with an awesome music producer from Manchester, Zac Chidgey. He’s a total legend! We vibed remotely on two tracks, “One Shot” and “Bow Down.” Both were sparked by some stuff I’d written before. I’ve got this massive folder filled with all sorts of random lyrics and ideas—pre-choruses, choruses, random verses, song concepts and themes etc. Now, here’s where “Bow Down” gets super interesting. The “You’ve been fucking with me on the low low low” line was from one song idea, while “Fucking Bow Down” was from another. The first part is pretty straightforward—it’s about someone messing with you and taking advantage. But “Fucking Bow Down” was all about time and bowing down to Chronos, the God of Time. The original plan was to make this song about how time’s always ticking away, and we’re all at Chronos’ mercy. But here’s the twist: Zac had this genius idea to mash those two concepts together. So, “Bow Down” transformed from being about Chronos to this whole new vibe of bowing down to the truth. It totally flipped the song’s meaning on its head, and I’m loving how it turned out!
What message do you want to convey through your music?
Honestly, I just want people to know that anything’s possible. I mean, I had zero musical training and still managed to put out some tracks. So, if you’ve never dipped your toes into music or rapping, don’t let that hold you back. Just keep grinding, find inspiration wherever you can—it’s everywhere if you look—and go chase those dreams, no matter how out there they seem. And hey, leave your mark, you know? Create something that’s uniquely yours. Build your own legacy, so even if you’re gone, your music lives on. That’s the real magic right there.
Behind the Music
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
“One Shot” was a big confidence boost for me! I was super nervous because it was the first time I tried a more musical flow. And let’s be real, I’ve got zero musical training. But, I’ve always trusted my ear—I think it’s pretty decent, at least! 😄 Putting myself out there was nerve-wracking, to say the least. But you know what they say, practice makes perfect. So, I just kept rehearsing the song like crazy before hitting the studio. And when the big day came? Somehow, I just got into the zone and felt right at home. To spice things up and make the vocals pop, I played around with harmonies. I like to add low and high harmonies alongside the lead vocals to give the tracks more depth and vibe. By the end, I was feeling so comfy with it that I went all in with the harmonies. Sure, looking back, I think I could’ve nailed the singing even better. But hey, that’s what it’s all about—growing and getting better. Every track’s a step forward, right? 😊 Oh, and here’s the kicker—ironically, few people ended up loving the singing even more than the rapping! That was a huge confidence boost for me. It made me realize I should keep experimenting with musical flows and keep pushing my boundaries. After all, you never know what’ll resonate with people until you try it!
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
This one is so hard! But I’d love to collaborate with the rapper NF. I love his raw grit and emotional authenticity within his songs. He shares his experience with mental health in such a unique way and it truly makes people relate to the struggles we all face on Earth.
Future Aspirations
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I’ll be honest, I have no idea. I don’t drop tracks frequently to be able to measure growth, so I’m not setting any big expectations. I’m just taking it one step at a time, enjoying the ride, and focusing on having fun whilst putting out music. Hopefully, along the way, I’ll build a fanbase who digs my sound
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
My current next steps involve releasing more music and experimenting with various rap styles and more musical flows. I’d also like to get more collaborations done with other artists, so any rapper or singer that likes my sound, feel free to get in touch! I’d love to collaborate with other talented artists on music! I’m all about teaming up and making magic happen together. One big milestone I’m excited for is my first live performance! I’ve never hit the stage before, so it’s definitely nerve-wracking but super exciting. I’m not in a rush, though. I want to make sure I’ve got a solid setlist, rehearse like crazy, and really feel ready to own that stage when the time comes. It’s all about timing and making sure I bring my A-game
