Artist Spotlight: Fiorious

What’s your stage name and where are you from?

Fiorious, from Long Island NY

What’s the story behind your stage name?

My last name is Fiore, so I wanted to somehow include that into my stage name. I was thinking of words that sound like my name and I thought of furious. So I just combined the 2 to make it Fiorious.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.

Man the journey has been awesome. Over these last 6 years, seeing the growth in my lyricism and creativity shows how far I’ve really come. And this is only the beginning.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.

My song DON’T MAKE A SOUND was the fastest I’ve ever made a song, and that isn’t me saying I rushed it. But everything just fell right into place perfectly. My producer StutterGod made the beat in 20 minutes and then it only took me 40 minutes to write and record it on the spot. The song only took an hour to make, because we hit a flow state unlike any other.

What message do you want to convey through your music?

I try to convey the struggles of being in your early 20s and the trials and tribulations that come with it. And at the end of the day, we all just gotta keep moving forward.

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.

When I finished the first version of my newest album, FEELING ODD EMOTIONS, something felt off to me. I kept listening and listening and the album as a whole just wasn’t sitting right. So I said screw it, and redid almost the whole album, and it came out better than it was before.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?

Man I love this question. If I had to pick 1 artist, I would pick Tyler The Creator. He always brings the best out of any artist he collabs with and as a person, he seems like such a dope, down to earth guy.

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?

I see myself growing a good amount over the next year. I’ve been connecting with a lot of other guys in the LI/NYC underground scene and I’m really hoping to start collaborating with them as well.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?

The next step is to start performing consistently. Even if it’s only an open mic. I’m talking like twice a week. Cuz that’s gonna be a great way for me to get my name out there and show people what I got in my arsenal.

Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?

My newest album, FEELING ODD EMOTIONS, is out everywhere right now! 12 songs, 37 minutes of real, authentic storytelling. It’s definitely worth the listen.
