Artist Introduction
What’s your stage name and where are you from?
Fuzhjin (pronounced “Fusion”), from Jacksonville, Florida.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
When I first began writing my own lyrics and rapping in middle school, an old friend of mine said that my style was like a fusion of Big Sean and Kendrick Lamar. From that point on, I went by “Fusion”, eventually changing the S to a Z. Then another friend and mentor of mine was helping me revamp my music style early in high-school and said the name was cool, but the spelling of it could be more unique, thus, “Fuzhjin” was created.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
A lack of an outlet was the genesis. My emotional expression morphed into passion. That passion became a metaphysical purpose.

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
I put the finishing touches on this track in a random house on a beach in Florida, and shot half of the promotional material in that same house over the course of two days.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
I want my music to serve multiple purposes, one of which is the message of liberation, the is a message of healing. People go through a lot on a daily basis, and if my music can be the soundtrack to your healing and liberation from whatever you may be facing, I feel I’ve served my purpose.
Behind the Music
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
The production was the most difficult part, originally I wrote a large part of the material to a J Dilla beat on YouTube, then when I started conceptualizing a project rollout, I realized that the content in the material was perfect, but didn’t fit any of the instrumentals I had found. So eventually, I just ended up sampling and creating the instrumental for the record myself, which was a whole other challenge.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Either The Alchemist, or Kendrick Lamar. The Alchemist because he is my favorite producer as of recently, and Kendrick Lamar because he is one of my favorite artists of all time.
Future Aspirations
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I see myself and other members of my label God Sun Generational doing multiple live shows, possibly a small scale tour. Overall just continual growth in audience, scale, and sound.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
I want to keep developing my style, my sound, and keep effecting people.

My latest single “BEAMS” is on all digital streaming platforms, I’m working on some more visuals for it on YouTube as well.
