What’s your stage name and where are you from?
I’m Eric Menace, and I’m from Brazil
What’s the story behind your stage name?
My stage name, Eric Menace, draws inspiration from the pronunciation of my real last name, Menezes. It not only reflects a personal connection but also aligns with the essence of my music—its sound, the emotions it conveys, and the way I explore the darkness and intensity behind those feelings. The name embodies the edge and depth that define my artistic identity.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
I began my musical journey in 2017, experimenting with production and creating a few records that laid the foundation for my sound. In 2022, I decided to take my craft seriously, releasing singles that marked the start of a new chapter in my career. Since then, I’ve been shaping a unique musical world, driven by my vision and a passion for storytelling through sound.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
“Hell of a Night” exudes a raw intensity fueled by reckless indulgence, emotional chaos, and the electrifying energy of living on the edge. The song pulsates with themes of heartbreak, hedonism, and existential defiance, weaving them into an unrelenting narrative of a night drenched in excess and self-destruction.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
The message behind “Hell of a Night” and my music in general it’s pretty deep, and captures the emotional complexity and intensity of escapism, and the fleeting highs of reckless past. It conveys a dual narrative: on the surface, it’s about the thrill of wild nights filled with chaos, lust, and pleasures, but beneath it, there’s a deeper reflection on emotional turmoil, heartbreak, and the search for meaning in moments of excess.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
Creating a new sound is definitely a challenge, as soon as I start to create the instruments I establish some vocal ideas, and the search is always for the right melody, always, and then I take a few days to define the lyrics, because I want to write the best I can.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Kanye West, Marilyn Manson, Travis Scott, basically because these artists are never comfortable, they are always creating new sounds, experimenting and creating a true visual experience.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
Higher places I believe, my goal it’s to takeover Hollywood.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Definitely a studio album, at the moment I’m creating mixtapes until I feel ready to make a real album.
