Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
Started back in 2008 when I heard T.I’s song ‘Dope Boyz’ and was inspired to rap over the beat as my first song. I’ve been singing, rapping and producing locally ever since honing my skills as the years have gone on. Recently I’ve been working with more melodies and positive content in the music to uplift and give off good vibes.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
I was in the studio with my 2 producer friends just cooking up a beat & I got inspired to create a song about what we were doing at the time –
cooking up a song. So I started writing and by the time they had finished making the beat I was ready to record and that song became ‘No Hook’.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
Life is short, enjoy it while you can and do whatever you must to ensure you and your loved ones are able to have a good time. Spread the positive vibes & hustle hard to attain wealth. Nothing is impossible so never give up!
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
Some people are naturally flaky & music is the ultimate collaboration so I’ve had to overcome people switching up or flaking on me. Some people who I entrusted with my music held it hostage or tried to move funny. I overcame it by staying true to who I was and finding the right people to work with who are like minded and get along with. Now I work with awesome producers & engineers who ensure my music is sounding amazing and the vibes are high.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Wizkid, Mugeez, Jadakiss, Freddie Gibbs, SZA & many more mainly because I’m a huge fan of their sound & I think our styles/sounds would mesh well with each other.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I see if opening doors in the content game as well as live performances. I see my exposure becoming greater and the music taking me to different cities and countries to perform & network.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Producing & writing an entire album for an R&B artist and having it be recognized as a great body of work
