What’s your stage name and where are you from?
JizzyJOnDaBeat and I am from New Orleans, LA.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
The name JizzyJonDaBeat came from combining my nickname “JizzyJ” with “on da beat” to represent my identity as a producer and artist. There’s no deep backstory, it just felt natural and fit the vibe I bring to my music.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
I was at a dark spot in my life and i attempted to take my own life, but failed. I started making music as a way to cope with pain and express what I couldn’t put into words. Over time, it evolved into a purpose, giving a voice to the voiceless and connecting with people who feel overlooked. Everything I create is a reflection of my growth, my struggle, and the streets that shaped me.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
While making my last track, I recorded the hook in one take during a late-night session, barely had the lights on, just vibing in the dark with the beat knocking. What’s wild is I freestyled most of it off pure emotion.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
I want my music to remind people they’re not alone in their pain, that there’s strength in being vulnerable, and power in surviving what tried to break you. Whether you’re fighting demons, chasing dreams, or just trying to be heard, my music is proof that your story matters.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
One challenge I faced during production was overthinking every mix. I overcame it by trusting my instincts, letting go of perfection, and reminding myself that raw emotion hits harder than flawless execution.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
If I could collab with any artist, it would be Merkules, his raw emotion, pain-filled storytelling align with everything I pour into my music. I respect how he blends vulnerability with strength, and I feel like our voices together would speak to people fighting silent battles.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
In the next year, I see my music taking me to bigger stages, connecting with a wider audience that truly feels what I’m saying. I want to build a stronger fanbase, land more placements, and keep growing as an artist who inspires, heals, and represents those who feel unheard.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
I’m focused on expanding my brand, locking in more visuals, and pushing my sound to reach listeners around the world who need something real
