Artist Introduction
What’s your stage name and where are you from?
I’m Kenyadda born and raised Chicago and now a Las Vegas native.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
The name was given to my grandfather from the late civil rights activist Medgar Evars.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
Being that I was born in the 90’s I got to the see the music industry change several times. My journey is that of one we might classify a “late bloomer”. I’ve crafted thousands of songs to find who I am as an artist and I can say right now I’m ready to take it all the way.
Fan Engagement
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
One of my writing processes is to voice memo a demo track, so with this one there is a whole different song that the world will never hear.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
I speak to the people on their journey to become the best version of themselves. I want people to understand that being a flawed human being is perfection. Have fun with my music, get through hardships with my music, and navigate relationships with my music.
Behind the Music
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
Since living in Las Vegas I record most of my music by myself and have to send it over to my engineer in Chicago so it could delay things.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
D’angelo. His album Voodoo is flawless. How he can manipulate his voice and you feel that passion through the songs, that would be a legendary session.
Future Aspirations
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I see my music giving Las Vegas a bigger scope and being a more renowned artist. The new generation of talent is on the way and I know I have an opportunity to be that artist to represent the next generation.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Touring and working with some well-known artist.
