What’s your stage name and where are you from?
King Donna, I’m from South Africa
What’s the story behind your stage name?
I was Percy at first but due to someone having the same stage name in my hood I had to change mine to Donna then the King was just me feeling myself then I went with it
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
I started recording professionally in 2017 being put on by one of the OGs from my hood but we then later separated since he signed a with a label. A year later I formed a group with a few gents to make music again & we came back stronger but the group also kinda failed so I had to go solo. I started releasing music on major streaming platforms in January 2024 & 4 months later I’m on over 20k all time streams.my

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
Lol My latest track is actually a diss & I did it in like 2 hours from the beat, writing & mixing. It was mad fun for me cause it was actually the first time making a diss track for anyone I’ve never done that before.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
I give hope to the hopeless & make them believe that they are more that they think they are. Basically what I’m saying is, Believe in yourself, don’t trust no one & lastly be yourself.

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
Voice projection, I really didn’t try playing with my voice but listening to a variety of artists’ songs I saw that I’m just not trying enough so i changed that & now I can confidently say that I’m the guy I think I am
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Sjava, he understands what every audience wants from old people to young people. For me he’s the most versatile artist in the country.
