What’s your stage name and where are you from?
My stage name is LiL M4RC, and I’m from the South suburbs of Chicago.

What’s the story behind your stage name?
I made my name LiL M4RC to represent my real name and what my family calls me.

Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
If I were to describe my musical journey, I would call it thrilling, educational, and fun. I say thrilling because the thrill you get before you hit the stage is like no other, and growing up, I was kind of forced to be around people almost all day every day when I was hustling, selling chocolate at my local Walmart. My journey is also fun and educational because I enjoy making music, and as I continue to create art, I learn more about myself, my craft, and how to perfect it!

Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
An interesting experience I had on my latest track was experimenting with a new type of sound I had never done before. I was grieving that day due to my auntie who passed away, but before I found out, I had already booked a session and it was non-refundable. I ended up still going and made an 8-minute song for my TT and a 4-minute song that I like a lot.

What message do you want to convey through your music?
That you are capable of any and everything—because I am. Especially those who come from no silver spoon: the hustlers, the ones who feel alone, the misunderstood. I want them to understand that they can accomplish something in this life and, no matter what, have fun achieving their goals and dreams. Get money, but understand that money doesn’t mean anything because when we’re gone, we can’t take it with us. And most importantly, be in touch with how you feel and love yourself.

Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
One challenge I faced during production was receiving the stems and actually taking the time to make songs how I wanted them to sound, not how others wanted them to sound. I overcame it when I stopped caring about what people thought about me or my music.

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
J. Cole, Juice WRLD (R.I.P.), Rod Wave, and G Herbo. I say these artists because I relate to them the most, and their music has helped me through some tough and difficult times. Even to this day, their music helps me get through situations, and when I need someone to understand me, I talk to God and listen to their music (and mine, lol).

Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
Next year, I will be doing my own shows and getting recognition from the goats of the rap game. I can also see myself doing a video with Lyrical Lemonade.

What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
To keep promoting and creating my content and brand while improving my music.

Are there any other promotional opportunities you’re looking for to boost your visibility?
Everybody go stream all of my music on all platforms under “LiL M4RC”. My project “B4 Tha Album” feat. Stunna 4 Vegas is out now on all platforms! Also, go like, comment, and share my two music videos on YouTube. One of them, shot by the notorious Nomoreheroes, is called “Keep It Real”, and the other is called “Betrayal”. Thank you!
