Artist Spotlight: Q&A with longsleeveunder
Today, we have a special guest from Broward County, Florida. Please give a warm welcome to longsleeveunder!
longsleeveunder: Hey, thanks for having me.
Lanzen: So, longsleeveunder, tell us about your childhood in Florida and how your unique fashion choice of wearing longsleeve shirts under T-shirts influenced your music.
longsleeveunder: Growing up, I always had this thing for longsleeves, even in the Florida heat. People thought I was crazy, but it became sort of my trademark. I even referenced it in my track “SLEEVEFROMTHETOP.”
Lanzen: Your musical journey is quite intriguing. Can you share more about how your father’s background as a DJ and producer influenced your path into hip-hop?
longsleeveunder: Yeah, my dad was heavily involved in music, and I guess it rubbed off on me. I started recording myself at a young age using his old audio interface. It was a natural progression from there.
Lanzen: Let’s talk about your debut EP, “SLEEVEY WONDER.” What was it like working on that project, especially with your producer Andrew Toto?
longsleeveunder: It was a wild ride, man. Andrew is super creative, so sometimes the final tracks sounded nothing like what I laid down in the studio. But we clicked, and most of the time, we were on the same page.
Lanzen: Your music has been described as moody yet hopeful. Can you elaborate on the themes and messages you aim to convey through your songs?
longsleeveunder: Absolutely. My music is a reflection of my own experiences and struggles, but I always try to infuse a sense of hope into it. Life can be tough, but I want my listeners to know they’re not alone.
Lanzen: Collaboration seems to be a big part of your vision. Who would be your dream collaborator, and why?
longsleeveunder: Oh, definitely The Alchemist. I’m a huge fan of his work, and I think we could create something really special together.
Lanzen: Looking ahead, what are your aspirations for the future of your music career?
longsleeveunder: I see myself making a mark in the underground hip-hop scene, continuing to push boundaries and connect with fans on a deeper level. And of course, more music videos on the way!
Lanzen: Exciting stuff! Before we wrap up, any ongoing collaborations or projects you’d like to share with our audience?
longsleeveunder: Not at the moment, but you never know what the future holds. Stay tuned!
Lanzen: Well, there you have it, folks! A glimpse into the world of longsleeveunder. Thanks for joining us today, and best of luck with your future endeavors!
longsleeveunder: Thanks for having me. It’s been a pleasure.
