What’s your stage name and where are you from? Pavy. Los Angeles, CA by way of Chicago, IL
What’s the story behind your stage name? It’s an acronym. “Pavy” stands for Progressive, Ambitious, Vigorous, Young’n.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences. It’s been an interesting journey. A trying journey. And an everlasting chase of perfection.
Fan Engagement
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track. I think that the older you get as a person you’ll run into people in your life that could be a much bigger part of your life if they didn’t have prior engagements or responsibilities that they have to tend to. And that’s basically what happened to me while creating the record, “If She Wasn’t Engaged”.
What message do you want to convey through your music? That it’s okay to be you. Even if the world says X, Y, Z “isn’t cool,” but that’s who you are and your intentions are pure, be you. No matter what, be you.
Behind the Music
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it. I think the challenge I always face is trying to meet perfection. At a certain point, you just have to release the art and realize that this idea is what it is. As long as you have a brain, you can create another idea, but this one has done all it can do.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why? Probably Paul Hardcastle. My dad would always play a lot of Paul Hardcastle, and I just love how smooth and easy-listening his records are. Plus, I love to make music that all ages can play.
Future Aspirations
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year? I don’t know, I just know I want to see growth. As long as I’m growing, it’s all love with me.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist? I think being even more musical. That’s what I want to get to: being even more musical. To where every record is truly an experience outside of just my words.
