What’s your stage name and where are you from?
Pseudo The Beatguy from Keyport, NJ
What’s the story behind your stage name?
Pseudo is short for Pseudonym, and I’m the beat guy.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
I’ve been making music since I was around 13. Growing up, I had a rough childhood, and music became my escape—a way to express my emotions and feelings. It’s always been my therapy first and foremost.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
Tired is my latest release. For this song, I wanted to write about how only the lucky few get to be tired, and that I’m grateful to have the opportunity to work to exhaustion. When I was writing it, I put on a random facts video from YouTube and intertwined a bunch of facts into the wordplay—it was a lot of fun to write!
What message do you want to convey through your music?
I’m using music as a way to get my emotions out and to vent. My only hope is that others can relate and that I could help them.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
My voice! When I started recording, my voice wasn’t confident, deliberate, or controlled. Over time, I practiced and improved, and I continue to practice to make it better.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Twenty One Pilots. I think our sounds would mesh well, and I also want to play a therapist role in the story they’re currently telling.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I see myself getting to a place where I only have to worry about making music to get by.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
To work with other aspiring artists and help them find their own original sound.
We occasionally feature artists on our Bird of Paradise Podcast for in-depth discussions. Would this be something you’re interested in exploring?
Yes.
Are there any other promotional opportunities you’re looking for to boost your visibility?
Yes.

Spotify (Pseudo The Beatguy) or YouTube (The Collective Media Group).
What is the best way to contact you if fans want to give feedback or if other artists/producers want to collaborate?
