My stage name is Rudy G, and I am from Illinois.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
My real name is Rudy Gonzalez, so I think you get the picture lol.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
It didn’t start yesterday or the day before that—I have put in work, honed my craft, and am always a student of the game.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
Getting to record in a studio with an engineer I had never met before and who had never heard of my music. By the session’s end, he ended up appreciating my craft, which was really special.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
Never give up. Always stay grinding, always stay hustling. The movie Rudy was about a man who never gave up, and my name is Rudy, so it all plays into each other.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
Lack of resources and having to do it all myself this time around. The result felt great, but it was weird doing it alone for the first time. I used to have a production team and places where I recorded, but times changed, and it was just me left from that group. I still did it, though!
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Artists local to my area.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
Hopefully getting more plays and more revenue to create more music. I also plan on starting to make beats again for other artists and myself.

Getting into production.
