What’s your stage name and where are you from?
Saint Kon.
What’s the story behind your stage name?
Saint was a nickname I acquired from friends I would help. Kon is short for Kontent.
Describe your musical journey in three sentences.
I started out writing poetry, and at 12, discovered rap music and started listening to Eminem and writing rap.
Share an interesting experience you had while creating your latest track.
10,000 Hours is the story of what I went through after turning in a pedophile cop and being retaliated against, losing everything, while he was never even investigated, much less arrested.
What message do you want to convey through your music?
That it’s okay to talk about depression, suicide, mental health, and that there is NOTHING wrong with you because you struggle.
Tell us about a challenge you faced during production and how you overcame it.
So, I am actually very shy. My producer had to push me to get into the studio and write and rap in front of other people. It’s still something I work on today.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Eminem or NF. Both are extremely talented, and Eminem is, of course, the reason I started rapping and where my style stems from.
Where do you see your music taking you in the next year?
I think once my first album drops, I will go global. Hopefully, it helps people in their darkest moments.
What’s the next big step for you as an artist?
Just releasing this album and starting my next.
We occasionally feature artists on our Bird of Paradise Podcast for in-depth discussions. Would this be something you’re interested in exploring?
Sure, just let me know when.
Are there any other promotional opportunities you’re looking for to boost your visibility?
Not right now.
Where can we hear/watch your most recent work?
Just google Saint Kon – 10,000 Hours. I’m on everything.
What is the best way to contact you if fans want to give feedback or if other artists/producers want to collaborate?
Any of my social media; just look up Saint Kon.
